Kumasi is the capital of Ashanti kingdom popularly known as the ‘Garden City’ with numerous cultural sites such as the Okomfo Anokye Sword site, Gold mines, Lake Bosomtwi, Bonwire (kente village) and many more.

Day 1
Arrival and overnight at hotel

Day 2
Depart Accra for Kumasi in the morning, taking a drive through scenic vegetation, villages and the breathtaking Kwahu scarps to Kumasi. Our first stop is Ejisu, the hometown of Yaa Asantewa, the bravest female army general in the history of the Ashantis. Yaa Asantewa led the Ashantis in the British-Ashanti War of 1901 and was exiled to Seychelles Island where she later died. Overnight at a hotel

Day 3
After breakfast, leave by bus to Manhyia Palace Museum for a historical lecture on the origin of the Ashantis. Continue Okomfo Anokye Sword site.
Then visit the African art & craft village at Ntonsu, noted for the hand-printed Adinkra fabrics and also witness the various stages for brewing dye for Adinkra cloth from the roots and barks of the “Badie” tree, stamping of Adinkra symbols and special needle embroidery of Adinkra cloth. Overnight at hotel

Day 4
Leave hotel for lake Bosomtwi in the morning after breakfast. The only natural lake in Ghana popularly known as ‘Kumasi beach’ to swim as well as relax. Drive back to Kumasi and continue to the military fort for a tour. Continue to Kejetia Market for shopping. Overnight at hotel

Day 5
Return to Accra via the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Stop over at Bonwire on the way back to Accra to experience the process of weaving the traditional Kente cloth on a loom. Arrive in Accra late afternoon.

REGIONAL BRIEF

The Eastern Region of Ghana is a rich blend of dramatic landscapes, historic relics and traditional cultures. The region is dominated by Lake Volta, one of the world’s largest man-made lakes, and the Akosombo Dam, source of much of Ghana’s hydroelectric power. The Eastern Region is famous for its large areas of lush tropical forest, and cascading waterfalls. Fishermen will enjoy great sport fishing for tilapia in Lake Volta.

This tour begins with a ride through the principal street of the Aburi/Mampong and stop over at Aburi gardens. The beauty and uniqueness of this garden stem from its relatively relieving Climate and the lushly scenic setting. Another delight importance is its aesthetics and medicinal properties. Visit the house of Tetteh Quarshie in Mampong for historic lecture on how cocoa was brought to Ghana.
Continue to the Cocoa Research Institute at New Tafo and Bunsu Aboretum Canopy walk in Koforidua. Depart new Tafo to Boti falls located in the North-east of Koforidua. We will have the opportunity to climb the umbrella rock. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3
Depart hotel after breakfast to Akosombo and visit the Dam as well as the Adome Bridge. This bridge serves as a link between Eastern and Volta region. Overnight at hotel

Day 4
Return to Accra late afternoon using the Hohoe -Accra road. Stop over at Shai hills for a guided tour in the Bat cave.

The City of Accra has been Ghana’s capital since 1877, and it’s the smallest capital among the other ten. Spreading along the Atlantic coast, the city is well endowed with luxury as well as great value hotels, excellent restaurants and nightclubs.

Among the highlights of Accra are the National Museum, with its splendid display of exhibits that reflect the heritage of Ghana from prehistoric times to modern times, the National Theatre with its distinctive modern architecture, the Centre for National Culture, Independence Square, the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, the fishing port at James Town and Makola Market.

Day 2(Accra full day city tour)
Depart hotel in the morning to the Du Bios Memorial Center for Pan-African Culture. Continue to the Kwame Nkrumah Museum named after the first president of Ghana which has Pre-historic and modern arts. A visit to the Makola market. Ghana’s biggest market where variety of items are being showcased
After lunch, continue to James town for a guided tour on the area. Return to hotel late afternoon.

Day 3
Depart hotel after breakfast to Tsaley Kope / Aquah Safari beach Resort. This beach resort is located on the lower estuary of the Volta river. swimming pool and is well known for Water Sport such as jet ski, sailing, swimming (pool or river).
After Lunch, visits to neighboring island communities to experience African arts & crafts, such as basket and straw mat weaving. There are also visits to architectural heritage sites in the area.
Departure late afternoon to Accra. Dinner at hotel.

Day 4
After breakfast, departure to Shai Hills for hiking, bird watching, exploring caves and mountain climbing. After lunch, departure to Accra via university of Ghana.

Cape Coast is one of the most historical cities in Ghana and it’s the capital of the Central Region Cape Coast is located 175km from Accra. It was the center of British Administration and capital of the Gold Coast. The Accra-Cape Coast road is lined with stunning, palm-fringed scenery. The Atlantic coastline reveals itself with variety of beach-side resorts where you can stay to enjoy the waves and the white sand. Elmina is after Cape Coast and is home to Elmina Castle.

Day 4
Return to Accra late afternoon. On way back, stop over at the ‘Pusuban Shrine’, traditional military war shrine for briefing on the origin of Akans, especially the Akan.

Northern Region is the largest of the ten Regions in Ghana The Northern Region is a place for lovers of nature. Its natural features of scenic and beautiful vegetation contain some exotic species of flora and fauna and offer a different experience of adventure in nature and wildlife. Its savanna vegetation enhances the fantastic panoramic view from the Gambaga escarpment and Karamenga hills while offering opportunities for hiking and trekking.

Day 1
Arrival and overnight at hotel

Day 2
Depart Accra for Kumasi in the morning and spend the day to visit the cultural center, Prempeh II Museum and the Okomfo Anokye Sword site. Continue to the craft village of Ahwiaa where the famous Ashanti Stools and fertility dolls are carved.
Next stop will be the craft village at Ntonsu. Ntonsu is noted for the famous ‘Adinkra’ cloth printed with dye produced out of the roots and bark of the ‘Badie’ tree. Overnight in Kumasi

Day 3
Depart from your hotel early in the morning to Northern region. Stop over at Techiman for breakfast before continuing to Larabanga Mosque, the oldest Mosque in Ghana, where a copy of the Holy Koran is believed to have descended from heaven and is still preserved in the Mosque
On foot from the motel, proceed on an early morning game viewing trip at Mole Game Park. We will use paths that expose us to the ancestral art of tracking and approaching animals silently.
Wildlife to be encountered in Mole Game Park includes antelopes, warthogs, baboons, blue and black Columbus, elephants, buffalo, the occasional lion, scads of leopards, hippos and hyenas. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4
Depart in the morning to Paga crocodile pond, a sacred sanctuary for crocodiles, this is located at the north-eastern border between Ghana and Burkina Faso. The crocodiles here are enticed out of the water by the whistling of the caretaker and the brandishing of a live fowl. Return to Bolgatanga and overnight.

Day 5
Visit the African arts & crafts market of Bolgatanga, famous for straw baskets, fan, hats, local northern attires, leather goods, metal jewelry and other African crafts. Depart for Tamale, arriving in time for lunch.
After lunch, spend time touring the principal streets and finally visiting villages of the Dagombas. Overnight at Tamale

Day 6
Depart Tamale to Kumasi in the morning. Stop over at Kintampo falls to view the beautiful scenery. Overnight in Kumasi

Day 7
After breakfast, we return to Accra via Bonwire, home of the famous Ashanti kente cloth. Arriving in Accra late afternoon.

The tallest waterfall in West Africa, measure about143 meters from the upper fall to the plunge pool below it.  Its sheer grandeur, height, beauty and cool environment beat every imagination. Continue to Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary after lunch. One of the most popular and well-run ecotourism projects in the country. Overnight at hotel

Day 4
Depart hotel early morning to Mount Afadzato. the highest mountain in Ghana at an elevation of 885 meters (2,904? ft.). Experience the caves on Mount Afadzato on way back. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5
Depart hotel in the morning for Adventure and Sightseeing Expeditions at Keta. The Xavi Bird sanctuary is at the Avu lagoon. The second largest lagoon in the area canoe with a local birding guide on the Loto River. Continue to Keta Lagoon late afternoon. One of the largest lagoons in Ghana, separated from the Ocean by a sandbar. This site is Ghana’s most important marine birding site and its Island provides sights of special attraction. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 6
Depart Volta to Accra late afternoon. Overnight at Hotel.

REGIONAL BRIEF

This region has the largest collection of European trading forts (later used in the slave trade); the highest tropical jungles; numerous mines, picturesque villages and friendly people; and old architectural styles and vivacious festivals. The region’s water villages on stilts are amazing to experience. A visitor can charter a local canoe out to the village and actually stay overnight in a guest house on the water.

Day 3
Depart hotel after breakfast and drive west to Akatakyi Crocodile Pond where the local fetish priest entices the crocodiles from the water with a live chicken. Bring a bottle of schnapps for the libation. Visitors are welcome every day except Wednesday, a sacred day. Stop to visit coconut grove and palm plantations on the way.
Continue to Busua Beach Resort for beach rendezvous i.e swimming, playing games and relaxation. Overnight at Takoradi

Day 4
Depart for Nzulezo (the village on stilts), 90km west of Takoradi the next morning after breakfast. The ancestors of this village were said to have been led to the place by a snail. Nzulezo means “surface of water” Witness how the daily activities of the inhabitants such as cooking, schooling and sports, Festivals and durbars also takes place on the water.
Visit Forts for a guided tour later in the afternoon. Return to Takoradi. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5
Return to Accra after breakfast, stopping over at Mankessim “Posuban Shrine”, traditional military war shrine for a brief historical account on the origin of the Akans, especially the Fantis. Late afternoon arrival in Accra.
